City Break Outfits | Seville, Budapest and Athens

Heading off on a city break? We don’t think there is anything better than a little trip away and there are so many great places in Europe that we are lucky to be able to visit so easily. But packing for a city break can be difficult, especially when you want to cram all your favourite Insta-worthy outfits into your tiny hand luggage case.

We have chosen our top three city break destinations, Seville, Athens and Budapest, and have chosen our pick of the best outfits for each city. So relax, packing no longer needs to be stressful with our tips and tricks, plus you’ll be looking on fleek everyday of your holiday. (Bonus!)

All of the outfits are available to Click & Collect to your nearest CollectPlus point too, so if your city break was a bit last minute or perhaps you’re just super busy, you can pick your items up at a time that suits you and avoid missing your delivery.

Seville is not typically the go-to location in Spain, however this wonderful city is becoming more and more popular as tourists are discovering the beauty in it’s rich heritage and culture. With so many sites to see, there are ‘hop on, hop off’ bus tours that allow you to see the main attractions within the city. These are great if you are only visiting for a short time and still want to see everything Seville has to offer.

Being an inland city, Seville is generally very warm, especially during the summer months. Light and airy materials are therefore essential; there’s nothing worse than having to dash into an air-conned shop to cool down. (Get flights to Seville here.)

This embroidered dress is truly stunning and the aztec print will look perfect in your holiday snaps with the city’s cultural backdrop. Get this at Mango for £69.99.

For any city break, comfortable shoes is an absolute must. Blisters are no fun at all and who wants to go away and not be able to explore?! Espadrilles are great for summer and if you go for a neutral colour then they pretty much go with anything. These shoes will compliment the embroidered dress really well but also look great with any other outfits you opt for on your city break. Get these at ASOS for £16.

The sun is nearly always shining in Seville so you will definitely need some sunglasses. Not only will they block the rays but sunglasses can completely transform an outfit making you look super chic. Get them at Pretty Little Thing for just £8.

We’ve seen this gorgeous city all over Instagram recently and we couldn’t be more envious of everyone who has already been. The thermal baths have got to be one of the most iconic attractions that are definitely on our bucket list. Fashion blogger Kristabel of I Want You To Know has been recently and this is her top tip:

“I’d really recommend the free walking tour of Budapest. It’s a great way to get your bearings and make a plan for the rest of your trip (we spotted so many locations along the way and got a few dinner recommendations). I brought along some comfortable flats, as we didn’t use much public transport and a colourful backpack looks great in photos.” To read Kristabel’s blog post on How to spend a chilled 72 hours in Budapest click here.

The city is lively and bustling all year round, but the best times to go to Budapest are said to be March through to May and September through November because the weather is truly idyllic and it isn’t overcrowded with tourists flocking here for the summer. (Get flights to Budapest here.)

The city is full of colourful and edgy buildings so being a bit more adventurous with your fashion is definitely something Budapest is good for. Experimenting with colour is always a great place to start and we just can’t get enough of this green stripe ruffle dress. Get it at River Island for £46.

Following Kristabel’s fashion tips, we think this pastel pink rucksack will look perfect in all your pics and is also very practical, which is always good. Get it at ASOS for £70.

Wearing trainers with a dress can look really cool, especially in a laid back city like Budapest. These will be perfect for all the site-seeing and chilled out drinks in the ruin pubs. Get them at John Lewis for £40.

As the capital of Greece and absolutely bursting with history, Athens is quickly becoming an up-and-coming destination for a city break. Just like Seville, Athens is also a very warm city, so packing clothes that will keep you cool is definitely something to consider.

With a much more laid back vibe, casual attire is perfect for Athens. Opting for separates can be a really great way to transform your outfit from day to night on a city break, especially when you don’t have a lot of space in your case. (Get flights to Athens here.)

Pale blue is so great for summer and it definitely has that Mediterranean, Greek vibe that will have you fitting in just like a local in Athens.  The crinkled texture is also really cool and will save you having to worry about using the dreaded travel iron that almost always burns your clothes (eugh).  Get them at New Look for £12.99.

Forget alternating between your favourite necklaces or worrying about the tangling of chains because layering necklaces has become such a huge trend recently. If you’re looking for an easy way to take your outfit up a level for the evening, this could be the answer. If you’re all about embracing this new trend, pair them with a v-neck t-shirt to add some colour to your neckline.  Get them at River Island for £14.

Flat shoes are a must during a city break, but even more so in Athens because of the cobbled streets and uneven pavements. Nude is always such a go-to colour, especially for footwear because it means that you won’t have to worry about colour clashing with your outfits. It’s also a bonus that they go with everything because, as we’ve already mentioned, if you’re travelling with hand luggage, you won’t have much space to pack lots of different shoes. Get them at Office for £29.
