Looking forward to your next chapter in style? We’ve put together a preview of what’s hot for A/W 2016, with some directional and trend-led pieces to help you refresh your wardrobe.
We’ve been working with some of the UK’s foremost fashion bloggers to nail down the trends you won’t want to miss next season. We’ve identified 5 key looks to welcome into your wardrobe, with plenty of must-have pieces to suit all price points. All are available to click & collect to a CollectPlus store near you – bringing London Fashion Week closer to home wherever you are in the UK.
London Fashion Week Trend #1: floral embroidery
There’s been an explosion of embroidery and floral tapestry on the high street recently, channeling the big designers at Valentino, Gucci, Peter Pilotto, Stella McCartney and many more. Fashion Week regular Anna Wintour has been spotted wearing some seriously show-stopping coats covered in embroidered florals, but you can easily get this look on a budget, too.
We’ve focused in on two particularly strong, affordable embroidered pieces that look set to be hot fashion tickets this season: Missguided’s Premium Floral Bomber Jacket (£40) and Miss Selfridge embroidered ankle boots, £85 at ASOS.
London Fashion Week trend #2: bomber jackets
Bomber jackets are one style you can’t miss in 2016/17, and we predict there will be plenty of these versatile items gracing the streets of Soho and beyond this month. Check out a few of our favourites here – all available to click & collect to your nearest CollectPlus store.
At the moment, we’re crushing on this velvet bomber from New Look (below left) which is also available in pale pink at £34.99. We also love this colourful ombre bomber jacket from ASOS, (below right) which is yours for £65.
We also love these totally on-trend embroidered bombers which will help you to nail two looks in one. The jacket on the left is by Needle & Thread, available for £230 at Very Exclusive. Get this look on a budget at River Island (below right).
London Fashion Week Trend #3: Embellished denim
A word of advice if you’re going to be pulling on a pair of jeans from now until further notice: make sure they’re decorated. Whether it’s patches, embroidery, brocade or floral motifs, embellishment is the denim trend of the season. The great thing about this look is you can go as subtle or as all-out as you like: we think this cute embroidered A-Line skirt at River Island gets the balance just right.
London Fashion Week Trends #4: 90s Grunge
Whether or not you remember the 90s trends from the first time around, now is the time to unleash your inner rock chick. Think oversized t-shirts, mesh sleeves and plenty of black leather if you want to work this look. Missguided has some highly affordable faux-leather biker jackets, band tees and halterneck dresses that makes easy work of experimenting with this style. We love this cool sleeveless jacket, which will give any outfit a 90s edge for just £30.
London Fashion Week Trends #5: Futuristic Metallic
While the 1990s is clearly an inspirational decade for designers this season, plenty are gazing into the future, too. Metallic footwear with a space-age edge is proving to be a huge hit among those in the know, with some truly out-of-this-world results. We’re currently crushing on these glitter-blasted block heel courts by Dune London:
