London Fashion Week | Kristabel’s Top Trends

London Fashion Week is the talk of the town at the moment and we just love seeing all the different styles and trends both on the catwalk and on the street. There’s no doubt that it is the event to ‘dress to impress’ so we’ve caught up with Kristabel of IWantYouToKnow to see what her favourite looks of the week were.

“Fashion Month is in full swing right now and it’s a great time to get inspiration on and off the catwalks.  I can’t be the only one on an Instagram double-tapping frenzy?  Being a blogger myself, it’s been fascinating to see how London Fashion Week has evolved over the past eight years.  You can follow all the action by stalking your favourite influencers on various platforms and there’s plenty of styling tips thanks to all those #ootds.  It’s a win win situation.

Since designers are showing SS18 collections and we’re barely into AW17, I’ve collated a few key trends spotted on bloggers that you can incorporate into your wardrobe now. All items in our list are available to buy with CollectPlus.

Look 1: Hannah Louise Farrington @hannahlouisef

If you’re a little bit daunted by hi-shine fabrics, then trying a traditional trench shape is the perfect way to experiment with the trend.  I missed out on Alexa Chung’s version from last year, so was happy to find this similar vinyl style on ASOS, which looks great with paired with metallics. Hannah balances out the mix of textures with an all-important slogan tee.

Trench Coat in Vinyl £80 at ASOS

Silver Metallic Wide Leg Trousers £25 at Pretty Little Thing

Boohoo J’Adore T-Shirt (Similar) £10 at ASOS

Look 2: Rachael Clifton @bubblyaquarius

There’s a lot of high-waisted, wide legged trousers around at the moment.  It’s a trend that used to fill me with dread, until I spotted Rachel in this belted monochrome pair by New Look.  The trick is to find a style that drapes nicely, the fluid fabric is a lot more forgiving than denim and contrast stitching keeps things interesting.

Black D Ring Belt Contrast Stitch Cropped Trousers £22.99 at New Look

Selected Femme Marlen Leather Jacket (Similar) £190 at John Lewis

Petite White Slogan Print T-Shirt (Similar) £9.99 at New Look

Look 3: Megan Ellaby @meganellaby

Megan Ellaby is a bit of a layering pro, which helps during this tricky transitional season.  She’s styled a pink jumper underneath a pinafore and it’s a great way to get more life out of your Summer dresses instead of packing them away.  A black denim jacket completes the look, they’re a little smarter than some of the washed out styles and a great alternative if you’re bored of cardigans.

Denim Jacket With Lace Up Detail (Similar) £45 at ASOS

Houndstooth Pinafore Dress (Similar) £49.99 at Mango

Silk Blend Jumper (Similar) £28 at ASOS

Dune Guilt Loafers (Similar) £75 at John Lewis

Look 4: Freddie Harrel @freddieharrel

I’ve always loved the idea of wearing one colour from head to toe, though I’m a little too scared to try it for myself.  I’ve been living vicariously through Freddie Harrel.  This red suit is a great statement for parties and special occasions, but you can also break up the components to get maximum wear out of the pieces.  Team the blazer with relaxed denim and a slogan tee or wear the trousers with a cosy poloneck.

Ultimate Red Suit Jacket (Exact Match) £65 at Oasis

Ultimate Red Suit Trouser (Exact Match) £40 at Oasis

Look 5: Camille Charriere @camillecharriere

Black, white and mustard is a colour combination that I previously wouldn’t have considered but Camille has converted me.  It’s a little bit 60s thanks to the white ankle boots and the bag incorporates the metallic handle that’s everywhere right now.  Mango are pretty strong at the moment in terms of accessories, this bag has a similar detail plus an added cross body strap for even more versatility.
