Practical yet stylish shoes to wear to a wedding

Stylist Gemma Rose Breger on shoes to wear at a weddingIt’s that time of the year where you end up spending all your weekends attending summer weddings. As stylist Gemma Rose Breger knows only too well, it sometimes ends up being an expensive time of year, but it always ends up being totally worth it.

Gemma writes: “I’ve put together a guide below on how to buy the most practical and stylish heels to go with your outfit. The best part is that they are all super comfy, they are all under £70 so won’t break the bank and you can easily order them all online and then use CollectPlus to pick them up whenever you like, from early until late, from one of the 6,000 locations across the UK.

Shoes to wear at a wedding – some tips:

If you struggle in heels then it’s always worth remembering that a platform or chunky heel will be more comfortable. So if you have the option, stick with a platform or a boxy shaped heel.

– Walk heel to toe.

– Wear them in. Put on socks with your heels at home so it gives the shoe a chance to stretch out in the places that would normally pinch.

– If the balls of your feet are your problem area then try out these foot pillows to cushion the area.

These are wild! This dusky pink colour is so on trend for Spring/Summer 17 and surprisingly it will tie in with most colours. Opt for a pastel ensemble by wearing a mint green dress with these heels to dress it up. Or if you would rather play safe and feel like the shoes speak for themselves, then pair with a muted grey dress.

Striped barely-there sandals, £58 at ASOS.

Putting a nautical spin on your outfit, you should wear these with a bright red or tangerine dress. Alternatively, you could pair the stripes on the shoes with a print on your dress – a pastel floral dress would look great with these.

‘Magic’ bow back heels in lilac kid suede, £68 at Office.

These are a great option if you feel more comfortable in a low heel. This lilac shade would be perfect teamed with a pastel coloured dress, or navy would look really chic.”
