What to do and wear this bank holiday

We’ve been totally spoilt with bank holidays recently, and the weather has even been nice too! Here’s hoping for another sunny bank holiday this time round. As for how you spend your bank holiday, we thought we’d give you some tips on what you can do and wear this weekend.

All of the products in this post are available to Click & Collect to a CollectPlus Point near you. With over 7,000 stores across the UK there’s bound to be one really close to where you work, live or study.

There’s no doubt about it, brunch has got to be one of the UK’s favourite pastimes, and what better time to do it than on a bank holiday? There are so many amazing places to go and it’s not just limited to London, although there are some pretty amazing places in the capital.

Somewhere we can’t stop seeing all over social media is London In The Sky. It has got to be one of the most exciting dining experiences (if you’re not afraid of heights, that is). They offer a number of different flights from breakfast through to prosecco & cake, lunch, dinner and cocktails. Breakfast lasts 45 minutes and you can add prosecco or champagne onto your booking to make it extra special. Our favourite on the menu has got to be the pancakes!

Manchester is so up and coming and definitely a go-to place in the UK at the moment. We love 20 Stories which is a glamorous restaurant on the 19th floor in the heart of Spinningfields. They do a great Sunday Brunch which has a good dosage of avocado on the menu! They also do a ‘champagne supernova’ cocktail which ticks all the boxes in our eyes.

As for what to wear for brunch, you can’t go wrong with a midi dress and sandals. You don’t want to look too overdressed but at the same time, who knows where the day will lead you! Something like this from ASOS (£38) is perfect for this smart-casual look.

Espadrilles are a staple in your summer wardrobe and this black pair from ASOS (£30) would look great with the midi dress. However, if you do want to go for something a bit more casual then converse are a great option.

Spa break

Sometimes you just need a really chilled out break. With the extra day this weekend, why not treat yourself to some R&R? The weather is supposed to be nice so somewhere with an outdoor lounging area would be great.

Pennyhill Park Spa is totally ‘Instagrammable’ and is the picture of luxury. You can book a one night break with them which includes full use of the spa facilities along with breakfast for just £120 on Just think how relaxed and refreshed you’ll feel…

Of course, spending a small fortune on a spa break isn’t feasible for everyone, and there are tonnes of amazing places you can go to without breaking the bank. The Titanic Hotel in Liverpool has a beautiful spa and swimming pool and you can pay a small fee to go in and use the facilities. If you want a treatment you have to pay for that separately, but if it’s just a good rest you need, then this is perfect!

River Island is a great destination for swimwear and we just adore this one shoulder swimsuit (£34). This would be ideal for a spa break as it’s classy and on trend but not too revealing.

Night out with the girls

There’s no better excuse for a night out with the girls than a bank holiday. If the weather’s good, a rooftop bar is always a winner. Pergola in London is a great place to go as it’s got some really cool street food pop-ups. There’s one in Paddington and the other is in Olympia so there are a couple of options! Be sure to book as it gets busy in the summer.

East 59th in Leeds is a lovely cocktail bar with New York vibes. It has a rooftop which, again, makes it a real winner and is the go-to place in Yorkshire to start an evening off.

As for what to wear, this navy leopard maxi dress from New Look (£25.99) is a great day-to-night outfit that can be dressed up or dressed down depending on the occasion. This will mean you’ll get lots of wear out of it too.
