What To Wear On Bonfire Night | by CollectPlus

Bonfire night is a firm winter favourite. The firework display is in full swing, you’re sipping the hot chocolate (with cream and marshmallows of course) and you’re ready to start the sparklers. Everyone will inevitably tell you to ‘wrap up warm’ but we have got just the right pieces so you can go out with a bang this year.

Staying warm doesn’t mean you have to look frumpy. Layering is one of the best things about the winter months and you really afford to be experimental. Adding different textures to your outfit through accessories like hats and scarves can transform your look into something much more interesting. So don’t be afraid to get creative with colour, patterns and textures. The fireworks aren’t the only thing that’s going to be bright and beautiful this year.

Black and Oxblood Check Scarf £16 at River Island

Oxblood is the perfect autumn/winter colour which never seems to date. Incorporating this with a check print really lends itself to the latest ‘Prince of Wales’ trend which has been all over the runway. Also, the best thing about scarves is just how versatile they are, you can style them in so many different ways for multiple looks and will never get bored of it.

Stitch & Pieces Knitted Cable Gloves in Blush Pink £12 at ASOS

You might have thought that pastel colours were over now that we are into the winter months, but the good news is, pastels never go out of fashion. While you may wear less of it, blush pink and other pastel tones are a great way to lighten up an outfit and bring it to life. As much as black is our go-to, no one wants to over-do it. These gloves are the perfect ‘pop of pastel’ and will definitely keep your hands nice and toasty.

Chevron Puffer Jacket with Faux Fur Hood £39.99 at New Look

Let’s face it, no one wants to be the one who has to go home early because they’re shivering away this bonfire night… Stay warm in style with this puffer jacket from New Look. And if red’s not your thing, don’t worry, it comes in a range of other colours including black, khaki and navy.

Printed Wellies £49.95 at Joules

Choice of shoes for bonfire night always seems to rouse debate. Well we think you can’t go wrong in a pair of wellies, especially when they can be this cool. Those classic green ones that your dad has buried in the shed somewhere just aren’t quite doing it… treat yourself.

Warehouse Cable Knit Hat £15 at John Lewis

Another spot of burgundy won’t harm anybody I suppose… Keep your ears warm in this hat which will have you looking chic and on-trend, even if you are wearing it just to cover up that fact that you didn’t bother brushing your hair (we don’t blame you).
