Winter Sun: where to buy summer clothes out of season

The answer is, of course, our good friend the Internet. This is yet another reason to love online shopping – the majority of online retailers now have a dedicated section for ‘Winter Sun’ or the ‘Holiday Shop’ which fulfils our summer dreams all year round.

Online shopping for your beachwear is stress-free, so say goodbye to hunting high and low on the rails for that bikini top that matches the bottoms, and say hello to browsing in the comfort of your own bed, with a box set on and a nice cup of tea. Trying on at home is the way forward – no more distorting fitting room mirrors or strange lighting. We’ve selected our favourite holiday pieces which will have you looking effortlessly stylish no matter where you are jetting off to.

Biba Biba Tribal Swimwear from £12 at House of Fraser

winter sun bikinisFinding the perfect swimwear style for you can be tricky, one style definitely does not suit all, so if you’re not sure which style is for you, take a look at our Swimwear Guide before you start shopping around – it will help you get an idea of which style is best for your shape and size.

Bandeau bikinis are great for those days spent soaking up the rays – say goodbye to tan lines. The triangle bikini is perfect if you opt for more plunging necklines in the evening and don’t want that white patch in the middle from your bandeau top.

This pattern also comes in a swimsuit option which is very flattering if you have overindulged or simply want to be that little bit more covered up. Although we all dream of looking like Gigi Hadid in a white two-piece, patterned swimwear is always more forgiving in the winter months if you don’t already have a base tan before you head off on your holiday.

Light Purple Stripe Elastic Bardot Bikini from £16 at River Island

Soak up the sun in this gorgeous lilac bikini from River Island. The bardot style is very on-trend and the pattern adds a bit of fun to the design.
