Are you heading off on holiday and wondering where you can buy summer clothes in winter? We caught up with fashion blogger Naomi Ross who’s just jetted off to Spain to find out what to pack and where to buy it.
“There’s nothing better than escaping the cold wet weather for a bit of vitamin D in the sunshine. I decided to do just this with my boyfriend before the Christmas madness starts. When searching for places we didn’t want to go too far as it was just for 4 day break. We opted for Spain as it was still in the 20’s even at the beginning of December! The benefits of booking last min I guess. When deciding what to buy and pack, I knew I had to be clever as I just had a carry-on case so needed outfits that would be versatile. I did the last minute panic buying a couple of days before using the CollectPlus option to get delivered to my local store. This meant I was less panicked and didn’t need to worry about being in to receive my parcels, a service I can’t recommend highly enough. Outfits, I broke it down into 4 scenarios…
I’m more inclined to reach for a swimsuit at this time of the year! Rather than a skimpy bikini , so this belted swimsuit from New Look (£24.99) was an absolute DREAM. So comfy and ultra stylish.
Oversized Graphic Tees (£17.99 at ASOS) are a great option by the pool, layer them over swim or tuck into your denim shorts!
These white Birkenstocks from ASOS (£25) are super lightweight, comfy and an upgrade from your flip flops. They go with EVERYTHING and you can wipe them clean!
Besides your swimwear I always find a cotton tea dress like this one from New Look (£17.99) is a great option for a cover up on the beach, If you need to nip to the toilet or walk to get lunch off the beach. It’s an easy throw on outfit that looks effortless.
We were kindly given this beach basket to use whilst we were around the resort but If you have room I would always opt for something like this, You can get everything in it! Again the versatile Birkenstocks are a great footwear option for the beach.
3. SMART BUT CASUAL EVENING
You want to be comfy but also look smart, I’ve opted for these gorgeous cream wide leg trousers, logo tee (£17.99 at ASOS) and pearl bag. These trousers literally go with everything and are an item of clothing you will pull out your wardrobe time and time again. I’m also loving this cream/white combo, a basic white tee would also look fab and make that tan glow too. Match them with a silky blouse for a smarter occasion like this Red Mango one or Green ASOS one (£36)
Another outfit I wore was this polka dot dress from ASOS, super lightweight and easy to throw on. I dressed it down with my Birkenstock’s but this could be worn with a gladiator sandal for a smarter option. (Similar here at ASOS £22)
4. DRESSED UP EVENING
Everyone needs a floral maxi dress for holiday, I always think these are so versatile. This one from Monki at ASOS (£40) has sleeves for the colder evenings and can easily be layered with knitwear for when you return home! WIN WIN! I have to talk about these kitten heels too, super comfy and not too high for those evening strolls to walk off your food!
I hope this has helped you when deciding what to pack to the sunshine, If you’re like me I always tend to pack far too much and end up paying for unnecessary luggage charges at the airport! Breaking it down into scenarios will make life a lot easier just like CollectPlus!
