Tablet users lead online retail boom

Consumers are using tablets to search for goods online more than twice as often as they were a year ago, with their popularity driving a jump in internet shopping queries on search engines. Retail web searches on tablets in the second quarter of the year were up 132pc against the same period last year, according to the Online Retail Monitor, which is compiled by the British Retail Consortium (BRC) and Google.
