eBay Christmas selling tips

We’ve put together some tips for selling on eBay – all you need is a little time and a little know-how and you’ll see some of those Christmas pounds come right back to you!

If you have any questions please get in touch with us and we will try our best to help you or give you advice when selling your items.

Not everything sells well. Check similar items on eBay to check sell prices before listing.

Generally, designer children’s clothing in good (unstained) condition fetches good money. Basics from department stores won’t translate into income.

Make sure your item is looking its best – wash and iron clothing, wipe down toys, etc.

Be clear, concise and completely honest about the item in your wording. Write a title with impact and if it’s an item with extras, it’s worth buying the ‘Subtitle’ feature to list these extras so people see them right away when browsing listings.

Answer questions promptly and politely, even if the question is silly or if the information is obvious in the listing.

The image is what sells the item. Always take photos in ambient light (flash drains pictures of colour and character) with a one-colour backdrop such as a piece of fabric or attractive wall. A messy lounge room in the background doesn’t give a good impression.

Buying CollectPlus labels direct from eBay

Have you tried it yet?

If you sell on eBay, did you know that our CollectPlus service is integrated into eBay’s seller flows?  Quick and easy to use, it is perfect for when you have got only a few items to send out at once.

How it works:

When you select CollectPlus as your preferred delivery option, you can now stay on the eBay website to buy and print your labels and make payments directly from within your My eBay account. This  automatically transfers your buyer’s address details to the delivery label and removes the hassle of having to leave the eBay site to complete your purchase!

Once you have dropped off your item at your local CollectPlus store, you and your buyer can track the progress of the parcel from within eBay. The service is also covered by eBay Buyer Protection rules for items up to £150, providing additional peace of mind.
