Central London convenience store crowned CollectPlus Store of the Year

Shoreditch-based HV Kingsley recognised for its excellent customer service ratings.

HV Kingsley has today been named the UK’s best CollectPlus store in the brand’s annual awards programme. Situated near Liverpool Street station, the convenience store fought off stiff competition to come out on top in the awards, which recognise excellent customer satisfaction and service levels from across the CollectPlus network of over 6,000 newsagents, convenience stores, petrol stations and supermarkets.

The store, which has been run by the Poluck family for over fifty years, offers goods and services to the local community as well as commuters. Since joining the CollectPlus network in February 2013, owner David Poluck and his team have built up strong relationships with local residents and companies, helping HV Kingsley to achieve the best overall performance for customer satisfaction, scoring an impressive 4.9 out of 5 stars for the period April 2016 to March 2017,

CollectPlus, the UK’s largest independent store-based delivery and returns service, enables shoppers to conveniently collect online purchases and return unwanted items from more than 360 high street and online retailers, including John Lewis, New Look and ASOS. The CollectPlus network has evolved to incorporate over 6,000 CollectPlus locations across the UK.

Recent research has demonstrated that stores benefit from offering the CollectPlus service; two-thirds (67%) of customers dropping off or collecting a parcel across the network, are visiting that particular store for the first time. The research also revealed that stores in the network take an average of £3,095 a year in additional revenue, on top of the chance to be crowned winners in the quarterly and annual store awards scheme.

Commenting on his award win, David Poluck, owner of HV Kingsley, said:
“This award is a huge achievement for us; we aren’t a big shop but we do have a large footfall and we’ve had really positive feedback from our customers about the shop and the CollectPlus service. Although we are a ‘traditional newsagent’ we are trying to move with the times by offering new services, such as CollectPlus, to act as a point of differentiation. Being able to adapt is important for stores like us to survive and to grow. The win has made the whole team and I excited about what’s to come!”

David was presented with the award by Neil Ashworth, CEO at CollectPlus, who said:
“HV Kingsley is a jewel in the CollectPlus crown, having previously won our ‘Store of the Quarter’ award back in 2016. It has been fantastic to revisit the store and thank David and his team once again for providing such an outstanding level of service to CollectPlus customers.

“For customers in this central London location, convenience is king. At CollectPlus we are all about offering a convenient service, and our 6,000+ stores across the UK make it possible for people across the UK to pick up and return their online shopping or send parcels at a time and place that suits them.”
