Customers without access to a printer can return their online shopping using voice activation technology to over 400 retailers at any of CollectPlus’ 7000 stores across the UK for the first time

11th July 2018: CollectPlus, the UK’s largest independent store-based delivery and returns service, has rolled out its Print in Store service to Returns customers. Customers who do not have access to a printer can now return their online shopping to a growing roster of retailers by printing their Returns label at their local CollectPlus store. Commited to creating a delivery culture of convenience, the launch of Print in Store for Returns follows the successful launch of Print in Store for the CollectPlus Send service in 2017.

To make the Print in Store service for Returns even easier for customers to access, CollectPlus has built an integration with Amazon Alexa that enables customers to order their Returns label entirely through the Alexa app’s voice activation technology. To use the industry-leading service, customers simply tell Alexa the name of the retailer they wish to make a return to. The device will then send a barcode to the customer’s phone, along with a link to the Store Locator tool to help them find their nearest CollectPlus store.

This unique innovation was developed in collaboration with technology returns start-up Clicksit, which specialises in fast track innovation processes for customer returns.  Launch clients for this service include Sky, Very, Littlewoods and Very Excusive with more brands being added.

Stephen Ireland, Operations Manager at Sky comments: “It’s fantastic to be the first brand in the UK to offer this ultra convenient service to our customers wishing to recycle, return or replace their Sky equipment. Here at Sky we place great value on providing outstanding customer experience. By offering this latest innovation, we are making it even easier for Sky customers to enjoy our world-class entertainment.”

Commenting on the launch, Matthew Jacques, Strategic Partnerships Director at CollectPlus, said: “We’re always looking for innovative ways to enhance our customer experience. This rollout of Print in Store for Returns will benefit customers who do not have a printer at home – as is the case for many millennials who are used to living paper-free lives.

“The additional integration with Amazon Alexa marks the first time that voice activation technology has been used end to end in consumer returns logistics and offers our customers even greater convenience as they fit online shopping around their busy lifestyles.”

CollectPlus was ranked no.1 in YouGov’s BrandIndex Satisfaction survey in the UK parcel industry for 2017. Over 400,000 new customers used CollectPlus services in 2017, demonstrating the growing drive for technology
