Neary’s General Store, a convenience store in Helmshore, near Rossendale, has been awarded the title of the UK’s best CollectPlus Point in the brand’s quarterly national awards programme. Neary’s outperformed over 7,000 stores nationwide to earn its top ranking by offering outstanding customer satisfaction and service levels to the local community over the summer period.
Neary’s General Store is a traditional, family-run business first started by Mrs Neary and her son John 47 years ago. Set in the heart of the Rossendale Valley in Lancashire, the store is now jointly managed by brother and sister James and Patricia Neary – providing the local community with a wide range of goods and services, including CollectPlus.
As part of its judging process for the awards, CollectPlus takes into consideration several criteria including customer satisfaction, where James, Patricia and the wider Neary’s team have achieved an impressive score of 4.95/5.
CollectPlus, the UK’s largest independent store-based delivery and returns service, enables shoppers to conveniently collect online purchases and return unwanted items from more than 360 retailers. Neary’s joined the network in December 2011 and is open from 7.30am to 9pm Monday to Friday, 9am to 9pm on Saturdays, CollectPlus and 9am to 8pm on Sundays, giving customers the flexibility to pick up and drop off parcels at a time that suits them, any day of the week. James and Patricia were presented with their award by Matthew Jacques, Product and Innovation Director at Yodel and CollectPlus.

In addition, a local driver from CollectPlus’ sister company, Yodel, has been awarded with the title of “Driver of the Quarter” following his outstanding support in delivering parcels to Neary’s General Store. Simon Price, from Yodel’s Middleton service centre, has been part of the Yodel team for 18 years delivering parcels to Neary’s along with the other stores and homes that he visits each day.
