A new IMRG report commissioned by CollectPlus has been released today, confirming that click & collect is now a ‘must-have’ option for retailers wanting to maximise their potential during peak trading periods, such as Black Friday and in the run-up to Christmas.
Designed to be the most definitive review on the subject in the UK, the IMRG CollectPlus UK Click & Collect Review 2015 report predicts that click & collect options are set to become even more popular in the future, growing at a rate of 20% per year. Its findings include evidence of the strong relationship between mobile shopping and click & collect uptake, and of the importance of click & collect for returns.
As well as presenting clear evidence of the importance of click & collect, the report is designed to equip retailers with the information and insight they need to cope with growing consumer demand for flexible delivery options, and to capitalise on their growing popularity. By providing them with the tools they need to introduce new click & collect options, it aims to help them prepare for the busy trading period in the fourth quarter.
Looking to the future, the report explores how innovations such as 3D printing and drone delivery can work alongside click & collect to provide increasingly flexible delivery options.
Neil Ashworth, CEO, CollectPlus comments:
“In just one decade, click & collect has gone from early trials amongst innovative retailers to a standard component of the multichannel retail proposition. From 2009, CollectPlus has pioneered third party collect and return services in the UK. It has certainly benefitted from the enthusiasm with which customers have adopted this flexible, convenient and accessible addition to the portfolio of delivery options from retailers of all sizes and markets.
